BIOMEDIX

BIOMEDIX – Biomedical Innovations through Digital Transformation of Additive Technologies and Knowledge Exchange

The BIOMEDIX project is focused on modernizing education in the field of biomedical engineering through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies – virtual reality, 3D printing, additive manufacturing, digital simulations, and artificial intelligence.

The aim of the project is to develop innovative digital tools and learning approaches, as well as to strengthen cooperation between universities and industry stakeholders across Europe, enabling students to acquire modern, practical, and digital skills needed in today’s biomedical technology sector.

Within the project, digital educational tools and virtual laboratories have been developed to enhance teaching and learning in biomedical engineering. Partners from eight European countries (Latvia, Spain, Poland, Serbia, Croatia, Germany, Belgium, and Romania) create modern educational materials based on 3D printing and additive technologies. The project also includes international workshops, hackathons, and expert events, enabling students and educators to collaborate with industry partners. Special emphasis was placed on the practical application of digital technologies, including work with specialized software for designing medical implants, through which BIOMEDIX ensures effective knowledge exchange and strengthens the professional competencies of all participants.
